Bepanthen Ointment 50mg/g ,30g

Bepanthen ointment accelerates the healing of superficial wounds. It contains the active ingredient dexpanthenol (a precursor to vitamin B5) in the ointment base.

Dexpanthenol is quickly and easily absorbed into the skin after application. In skin cells, it is converted into pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), which significantly affects the formation and renewal of skin epithelium, accelerates wound healing and relieves inflammation.

Bepanthen ointment is very oily, so it prevents the treated area from coming into contact with water (or urine) after application. It is recommended primarily for application to non-hairy skin, as it is more sticky (viscous) than Bepanthen cream and is therefore more difficult to apply to the skin.

Bepanthen ointment is used for:
- care of dry, rough or cracked skin,
- breast care during breastfeeding, treatment of inflamed and cracked nipples,
- baby care: prevention and treatment of diaper rash,
- acceleration of healing and overgrowth of the skin or mucous membrane surface with a layer of cells in minor injuries (e.g. minor burns and abrasions), irritated skin (e.g. after radiotherapy, phototherapy or exposure to UV rays), chronic ulcers and bedsores, anal fissures, skin grafts and cervical ulcers,
- skin care during and after discontinuation of corticosteroid treatment.

What Bepanthen ointment contains
- The active substance is dexpanthenol. 1 g of ointment contains 50 mg of dexpanthenol.
- The other ingredients of the medicine (excipients) are glyceryl monooleate, lanolin alcohols, liquid paraffin, yellow petrolatum, ozokerite, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, white wax (E901), lanolin (E913), white petrolatum, refined almond oil and purified water.
