Lioton Gel (heparin sodium)

Lioton Gel is a topical medication containing heparin, an anticoagulant. It is used to treat blood clots just beneath the surface of the skin and to alleviate symptoms of superficial venous disorders, such as thrombophlebitis.

Common Uses:

• Treatment of subcutaneous hematomas: Relieves pain and inflammation of hematomas.

• Superficial venous diseases: Treats and prevents the formation of clots in veins and arteries due to skin injuries, ulcers, and anal fissures.

• Symptoms of varicose veins: Relieves pain and tension in the legs, heavy legs, and swelling.

Active Ingredient:

• Heparin: Contains heparin, an anticoagulant that helps dissolve blood clots and reduce inflammation.

Side Effects:

• Mild Side Effects: Itching, irritation, burning sensation, and redness at the application site.

• Allergic Reactions: Possible skin reactions, especially with sun exposure.

How to Use Lioton Gel:

• Clean and dry the area where you will apply the gel.

• Apply a thin layer of Lioton Gel directly to the affected area.

• Gently massage the gel into the skin until it is absorbed.

• Wash your hands thoroughly after applying the gel, unless your hands are the area being treated.

• Frequency of Use: Typically applied 2-3 times a day.
